WOMAS
The Women's Ministry at Shiloh, known as WOMAS was formed in
the fall of 2001. The purpose of the ministry is to reach
women and serve women in the church as well as women in the
metropolitan area. WOMAS has had offered women the
opportunity to fellowship together for events at the
Kennedy Center, retreats at Coolfont West Virginia, Harbor
Towne at St.Michaels Maryland as well as the church as well
as Bible studies at various member's homes.
WOMAS
tries to work together with other ministries in the church,
such as co-sponsoring events that included a dialogue and
book signing for Dr.Dorothy Height. WOMAS has also
sponsored community activities hosting Dr.Toni Morrison and
co-sponsored a major conference for Women in the Ministry.
For the past three years, WOMAS has organized the Women's
Season in March.
The season has included a worshops, Women in Prayer, Spelman
University's choir, a day at the spa, a Women's Day Luncheon
and Women's Day. The Women's Day guest preachers have
been: Rev. Jacqueline Thompson, Co-Pastor Susie Owens, Rev.
Joanne Browning, Rev. Ann Lightner-Fuller and just Bishop
Vashti McKenzie.
