Paul tells us in Romans…
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel: it is the power of
God for salvation to every one who has faith, to the Jew
first and also to the Greek. For in it the
righteousness of God is revealed through faith for
faith; as it is written, "He who through
faith is righteous shall live."
Romans
1:16-18
Shiloh, we have certainly seen the “righteousness of God
is revealed through faith” in every step of this
journey. As of this writing, July 8, 2007 the
sacrificial gifts made to the “Take The Signs Down”
Campaign total $170,672.00. (Though the campaign
has ended, contributions continue.)
The goal of $100,000 was based on a time frame of three
Sundays (15 days); and preliminary cost estimates of the
work required. We now know the scope of work involved
will exceed the target goal. Thanks be to God that He
knew we would need more than what we were even asking!
We met with the current contractor, Trustee Board
representatives, and Mr. Randolph on Thursday, July 6,
2007. The rodent proofing and brick work for the 9th
Street properties will be an additional cost (as we
informed you last week.) We are now aware the masonry
work required is more extensive than originally thought
and the city requires, not only rodent proofing, but a
contract with an exterminator. We were also informed at
Thursday’s meeting a “notice for cause” was received on
June 29, 2007 on 1533 9th Street. Minimal
work will be needed on this property to bring it up to
District of Columbia’s standards.
The work itemized in the contract for the original 9th
Street properties is on schedule for completion by July
15, 2007. We are still waiting for the contract to be
signed for work on the 8th Street properties.
We promise to keep you informed of additional revenue,
expenses, and progress.
Special thanks again to Trustee Clark, Mr. Randolph, Ms.
Jackson, and Deacon Roach (for printing the updates in
the Spirit.) And thanks to you, our Shiloh family, for
the “spirit of unity” that has flowed through this
campaign. Most importantly, we thank God for his
faithfulness and provisions. To God Be The Glory, Great
Things He Has Done!
I need you. You need me. We’re all a part of God’s
body. It is His will that every need be supplied.
Stand with me. Agree with me. I need you to survive. |
