Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen
Matthew 11:1

"The Take The Signs Down" Campaign was a faith walk for each of us, and God has given us the victory!

The total donated to date in the fifteen days of "The Take The Signs Down" Campaign is $157,300.00.  These funds will be used to pay the fees associated with completing the work required by the District of Columbia Government to remove the condemnation signs on a total of six properties.

Four of the properties are on 9th Street, NW -1526, 1528, 1532 and 1534.  As stated previously (and to be proactive) work will also be completed on 1536 9th Street. The contract for the work to be done on the five houses on 9th Street totals $48,520.00.  The payments made to date total $24,260.00.  There will be an additional cost for brick work around the windows and rodent proofing for these properties.  This work is to be completed by July 15, 2007.

As of July 1, the contact on the two condemned properties on 8th Street, NW - 1543 and 1600 had not been signed.  We believe, however, the cost of both contracts should not exceed our targeted goal of $100,000.00

We will update you on the donations, contracts and expenses at the next church meeting.

Though the Campaign has ended, we will continue in our stated path of clarity and transparency to inform you of any expenditures relating to the condemned properties and/or "Take The Signs Down" Fund.  We thank Charles Randolph, Trustee Christine Clark, Sarah Jackson and the Finance Room Committee for all their efforts toward our goal.

We certainly realize that this is only a temporary step on a long road, but God has abundantly blessed us thus far.  We recognize that the ultimate goal is to redevelop the properties into habitable units.

We thank God for the opportunity to be in His service and our Shiloh family for your words of love, support and encouragement.

I need you.  You need me.  We're all a part of God's body.  It is His will that every need be supplied.  Stand with me.  Agree with me. I need you to survive.
