Today we will install our new officers, who were officially voted into their positions at the quarterly business meeting on January 30th.  We pray for their strength in the Lord as they assume the mantle of leadership in these challenging times in our congregation, in the nation and in the world. We ask God’s blessings on them and on their families, that they will find spiritual, intellectual and emotional growth in their new roles, with a little joy thrown in for good measure. We thank God for each of them and for their willingness to serve.

Today also begins Christian Education Month at Shiloh. Throughout the month, we will offer programs and events that heighten our understanding of theology, the Bible, and cultural history.

Helping us to observe both Christian Education and Black History month on next Sunday,  will be the Reverend Neville Callam.  Reverend Callam is the first person of African decent to serve as the General Secretary of the 103 year-old Baptist World Alliance. The Baptist World Alliance encompasses 19 million Baptists in over 190 countries. We thank God for Reverend  Callam and the very influential post he has assumed.

The third Sunday of this month will be the Sunday when the various activities of our Christian Education ministry will be highlighted.  We are delighted that this ministry has offered so many quality programs through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, the Bible Institute, lectures, programs and discussions. We salute the members of the Christian Education Ministry for all their good work and pray that God will continue to bless them as they give excellent leadership to this important part of our church’s life.
