Family Members,

The first week, with just a kick off announcement about the Take The Signs Down Campaign, we collected $14,096.00 on  Sunday, June 17, 2007, (The total for June 24, 2007 will be shared on next Sunday).

Mr. Charles Randolph, Church Administrator, has informed us the contract for the work on five houses on 9th Street has been signed at a cost of $48,520.00.  Work was scheduled to begin last Friday (June 22) and is to be completed by July 15, 2007.  The money collected on Sunday, June 17, 2007 will more than cover the required initial payment. (This contract includes work on a fifth house on 9th Street in an effort to avert an additional condemnation notice.)

We expect a contract to be signed shortly, for work to be done on the additional properties on 8th Street.  We believe the total cost will be within our $100,000.00 goal.  Again, this is not renovation work but the work required by the D.C. Government to Take The (condemnation) Signs Down.  The Take The Signs Down Campaign has three key points we hope you will remember:

-- Sacrificial Giving - We are requesting a gift in addition to your tithes and offerings,

-- All of us, regardless of your opinions on the issues we face, with the understanding this is only
a temporary measure, are being asked to work together to Take The Signs Down,

-- Transparency is our goal.  We will keep you informed of the donations, expenses and the process.
Trustee Christine B. Clark is assisting in this effort and assures the integrity of the funds will be
                maintained.

When you make your contribution, please write a separate check and write Take The Signs Down on the memo line. Also, please use a separate envelope and write, Take The Signs Down on the outside of the envelope.  The envelope should then be placed  in the third offering plate  today.

I need you.  You need me.  We’re all a part of God’s body.  It is His will that every need be supplied.  Stand with me. Agree with me.  Shiloh - We need each other to survive.
