In February 1982, as a result of the vision, conviction,
commitment and compassion of the late Dr. Henry C. Gregory
III, fifth pastor of the historic Shiloh Baptist Church of
Washington, the Henry C. Gregory, III Family Life Center
Foundation (FLCF) was established. A tax-exempt,
non-profit charitable organization, the FLCF has enjoyed a
long history of distinguished community outreach and service
to families and individuals within the surrounding Shaw
Community and throughout Washington, DC and the metro area.
With a mission to strengthen and nurture regardless of
age, race, socioeconomic status, culture or background, the
FLCF administers its programs through the Henry C. Gregory
III Family Life Center. A multipurpose, five-story
facility, the Center provides a wholesome environment for
educational, cultural, recreational and spiritual renewal.
Importantly, through the Center, programs are implemented to
assist families and individuals as they cope with the
challenges and vicissitudes of an ever-changing society.
Well aware of the crippling impact of poverty, violence,
alcoholism, drug abuse and poor nutrition, the FLCF provides
care from "cradle to rocking chair." The following
programs reflect the unflagging commitment of the FLCF to
the residents of the District of Columbia and metropolitan
area.
